Short History: Squadron 13 was reactivated in 1983 following the division of Squadron 6. Squadron 13 stood out as one of the best Corps units and was the only "Bonfire" outfit to remain active until 1998. Known for its pride in tradition, integrity, service and excellence, Squadron 13 fostered an enduring brotherhood that transcends class years. It consistently ranked high in Corps academics and produced leaders at the Group, Wing, Corps and University levels. These included Student Body Presidents, Head Red Pots, Head Yell Leaders, and leaders within the Ross Volunteers, Parson's Mounted Cavalry, Fish Drill Team, and Special Ops. "Thunderin' Thirteen" was known by contemporaries as a tight-knit outfit forged from Aggies of all walks of life. It leaves behind a legacy of excellence that its former members still adhere to today.
The Squadron 13 Legacy Society honors and preserves the proud traditions of Texas A&M and its historic outfits. Rooted in loyalty, leadership, and service, the club connects generations of cadets—past, present, and future. We celebrate outfit heritage through history, storytelling, and shared values, highlighting the Corps’ rich military legacy. Membership reflects a lifelong commitment to Aggie spirit and supports future leaders through tradition and Corps unity.
